Signature & Stone was founded on a simple conviction: the entrance to a business should tell its story before a word is spoken. We specialise in handcrafted limestone effect porcelain signage panels that bring a sense of permanence and understated elegance to storefronts, offices, and commercial properties across Britain.
Unlike cast resin or painted alternatives, our panels are made from genuine porcelain: fired at high temperature, resistant to the British weather, and designed to look beautiful for decades rather than years. The limestone effect is not a print or a coating. It is embedded within the panel itself, so it cannot peel, fade, or wear away.
We are a small, dedicated team based in the United Kingdom. Every panel is made to order, which means your signage is never pulled from a shelf. It is made for you, to your specifications, by people who care about the finished piece.
How We Make Our Panels
Our manufacturing process combines traditional craft knowledge with precision digital tooling. Here is how it works:
- Porcelain base: We use high-grade porcelain body panels, the same material found in quality architectural tiling. This provides a dense, non-porous foundation that resists moisture and frost.
- Limestone effect surface: The limestone appearance is produced through a specialised firing and finishing process, not a surface coating. The result is a consistent, through-body texture that mimics the warmth and variation of natural stone.
- Precision lettering: Your text, logo, or design is CAD-drawn and then precision-cut into the panel surface using carbide tooling. Cut depths are controlled to fractions of a millimetre for a crisp, consistent result.
- Quality inspection: Every panel is inspected before despatch. We check depth of cut, surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance against your submitted artwork.
Lead Times and Delivery
We maintain a lead time of 5 working days from the point your design is approved and your order is confirmed. All panels are despatched with free UK mainland delivery. Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands, and other offshore postcodes may incur a small surcharge, which we will confirm before you commit.
All panels are carefully packaged in double-walled cardboard with foam protection to ensure they arrive in the same condition they left us.
Our Ethos
We believe good signage is an investment, not an expense. A well-made sign outside your premises communicates care, permanence, and craft. It tells people that you care about the details. That is the standard we hold ourselves to with every panel we produce.
We keep our production intentionally focused. We are not a high-volume manufacturer churning out hundreds of identical signs per week. We are a small workshop that takes on a limited number of commissions so that every piece receives the attention it deserves.
